Went for a walk in Wells whilst on holiday, on the way out we fancied a cup of tea and see a sign saying dogs welcome so perfect for us with our two. Friendly staff and a lovely cream tea. Kids enjoyed an ice-cream each as well.
So impressed when we went for ice cream here. The ice creams were delicious! My friend cannot have gluten and they have gluten free cones. Not only that but Tom who served us was extra careful and used the new tubs of ice cream for my friend to ensure there had been no cross contamination with crumbs of regular cones. Absolutely excellent service and wonderful to have someone so allergy aware. Thank you!
Ordered the cream tea with fruit scones & cheese scone. A good cheese scone is always an indication of great baking & this cafe didn't disappoint. Both the fruit & cheese scones were large, very tasty & flavourful with good texture. Service staff were warm & friendly. Our order arrived quickly. Also noted the staff cleared up efficiently when tables were vacated. Only one single toilet for customers but clean. Highly recommended for the scones & service. Keep up the good work!
Staff service and food was amazing. Drinks done very quickly - coffee was delicious. Large potions of food. Lots of tablets within the cafe, 3 different tiers, some steps, but all levels wheel chair accessible as ramps there. Disabled toilet with baby changing unit, but it's used for everyone eg only 1 toilet, that's the only criticism. Will definitely go back again.
I haven’t been in for ages and I’m so glad that I decided to meet my daughter and son-in-law here for tea and cakes today - a very busy Saturday in Wells! It was as lovely as I remember: great service, lovely drinks and cakes. I won’t be leaving it so long to return! Thank- you, Market Place Cafe and your lovely staff!!
I was going to go to Ask for lunch but the waiting staff were so grumpy and unfriendly vibes I about turned and thought nope I can do better... that I did. I was seated by a lovely lady and took my order. I had found a little gem in the bussle of Saturday market day. The display of cakes and ice-creams were very inviting... the panini I had was yummy and the cheesecake was calling out to me so I had to takeaway. The service I received from one particular person she even ran after me to give me a takeaway fork. Very happy to give this business my money for the quality of food and service was outstanding.
Good experience! Wide range of snacks, even veggie/ vegan/ gluten free choices. Soup for starters, pot of tea,jacket potatoe, loads of salad, choice of cakes and a tasty coffee for less than 20 a head? Winner! Tom behind the counter sorted everything out for us.
Whenever I come to wells with my family we go here for our lunch and always have a jacket potato. So much choice of food but the jacket potatoes are really good! Very plentiful with the portion size and very good price. Love it here :)
